Group F1 of Williams helps JCB write a new speed record for the tractor to achieve 166.7 km.

A year ago, the Top Gear car show set a world speed record (140.44 km) at Bruntingthorpe, a former military airport near Leicestershire, Britain.

After 15 months, a new record significantly faster than the previous one was " written. " This time, JCB created a different Fastrac 8000 tractor with the help of the Williams team from F 1.

First, the Record of 166.72 km at Yorkshire Elvington Airport was achieved by Guy Martin, competing in the British Motorcycle Speed Championship and was a TV presenter.

The effort was filmed and will be presented later this year on Channel 4. " It was a great day with JCB in Elvington. "The tractor was stable, and I was safe as we made our effort, " said Martin.

The tractor is the Fastrac 8000 model with a 7,200 cc engine, diesel with 1000 hp, and 2,500 Nm of torque.

Its conversions were kept secret, and only the gearbox was revealed, which was not the standard CVT from the production vehicle but a ZF six-speed.

Aerodynamic aids are the work of Williams Advanced Engineering, which is none other than Williams Formula 1.
